Every school is different!

Having worked in schools both through teaching directly and through visiting many different schools in training and support roles, the Picture News team fully appreciate how varied schools can be. Not just in size or location, but how the attitudes and experiences that children, parents and teachers all bring to the table can impact on how the school community feels and responds; more importantly how their needs and wants differ so much that to provide a useful resource that suits everyone – flexibility is vital!

We KNOW that making Picture News a ‘one size fits all’ product would not suit every teacher or school so we try our very best to listen, offer choice and work closely with schools to provide a solution that works for them. We also feel very passionately about helping as many schools as possible teach valuable lessons through the real-life context of the news – to achieve this, we work as best we can to include everyone! Here are just a few of the ways we can accommodate a variety of needs:

Storing posters – Lots of our schools display our posters around school after they’ve been used in assemblies; others like a folder to store them in. We send all our annually subscribed schools a display folder but we can also provide different solutions for displaying posters as and when required.

Small schools – less than 200 children? Get in touch – we don’t feel you should miss out and we appreciate that small schools = smaller budget.

Electronic copies – We know everyone has different devices these days, you may not be able to access certain file formats,  so we’ll send it across in a format you can.

Regularity – Not all our schools want posters every week, many do as it forms part of their weekly current affairs or news assembly but we’re very open to different options depending on what works for your school.
