He was born in 1926 in England, and grew up loving fossils, rocks, and animals. As he got older, he turned his curiosity for nature into a television career. David Attenborough is well-known for creating and presenting wildlife programmes, such as Planet Earth and Blue Planet. He’s travelled around the world to make his shows, from visiting jungles, mountains and deserts, to sailing on oceans and walking around Antarctica. With his calm narration, David’s educates people about fascinating moments in the natural world, helping people to understand how animals and plants live, how they depend on each other, and why nature is so important. Sir David also speaks about currents dangers facing the natural world, such as climate change, habitat loss and pollution. He encourages everyone, especially young people, to care for the Earth and protect it for the future.
