Sunday 9th – 16th November is Inter Faith Week. It’s a nationwide initiative that looks to unite schools, organisations, and different faith and belief groups (including those who are non-religious). This year’s theme is ‘Community: Together We Serve’, focusing on empathy, learning from others, and celebrating the positive differences that people of all faiths and beliefs make in their communities. Part of the week’s focus, there will be fun activities taking place all around the UK, including talks, walks, parties, and learning activities. Discussing Inter Faith Week, Inderpal Kaur Singh, a Faith & Community Engagement Officer for the British Sikh Consultative Forum, shares: “UK Inter Faith Week offers a vital opportunity to celebrate the rich diversity of our nation, deepen understanding between different traditions, and strengthen the bonds of friendship and trust that unite us.” How can schools celebrate Inter Faith Week 2025? There are some fun Inter Faith Week themed opportunities coming up for schools! Come along to the Inter Faith Week Live Assembly, in collaboration with The Faith and Belief Forum. We’ll be kicking off Inter Faith Week with another huge live assembly, joined by special guest Carrie Alderton from The Faith and Belief Forum! Together we’ll explore how people from different faiths and beliefs can learn from one another, work together, and build understanding and respect in our communities. Through stories, questions and reflection, we’ll celebrate what makes us unique, and what brings us together! Our special guest, Carrie, is the current Interim CEO of The Faith and Belief Forum. She’s worked on interfaith projects across Edinburgh and Seattle, has a passion for equality in education, and has ran a safe education centre for refugees in Serbia. Monday 10th November 9:15am - 9:45am Online live assembly on Zoom Suitable for children in KS1 and KS2, their teachers, TAs and SLT.
