Black History Month Primary School Live Assembly 2025

It’s back by popular demand! This October, we’re hosting the Black History Month Live Assembly ! Be part of another huge school audience – join Katie and special guest, BBC presenter Swarzy Macaly , to explore this year’s theme, ‘Standing Firm in Power and Pride’. Friday 3 rd October 2025 9:15 – 9:45am Online assembly on Zoom The assembly is suitable for children in KS1 and KS2 , their teachers , TAs and SLT . Open to all! There will be time for lots of interaction between schools and Swarzy, as we celebrate and reflect on the meaning of the 2025 theme together. Last year, almost 400,000 pupils participated in our 2024 Live Assembly with Swarzy, to celebrate Black History Month. Now, the Picture News team and Swarzy are hosting the assembly again – and we’d love for you to be part of another huge audience! In line with the 2024 Black History Month theme, ‘Reclaiming Narratives’, Swarzy shared with enthusiasm and passion about her family history, traditions, and connections – sharing her story with pupils up and down the country.
